Description

The cut surface of the uterus shows several partly-haemorrhagic areas, for the most part closely
related to the endometrial canal, but with one nodule in the muscle of the fundus. That this lesion
is malignant is suggested by its presence in muscle, not in a circumscribed encapsulated fashion,
but in an irregular invading manner. The fact that the lesion is multi-focal, and not forming the
mass that ordinary carcinomas do, points to the fact that it is a different lesion from an
adeno-carcinoma. This lesion has arisen as a malignant change in trophoblast.
